Ennis ISD is in Region 10 of the Texas Education Agency in the City of Ennis, Texas. The City of Ennis, located 30 minutes south of downtown Dallas, is emerging as a preferred development and residential site in the southern tier of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
This historic community of 19,000 is nestled among three beautiful lakes that provide not only an abundance of recreational opportunity but also a residential setting that is unsurpassed. Ennis contains 144 historic structures that appear on the National Register of Historic Places. These structures grace the community and point to a proud past of railroad and agricultural activity in a bustling turn-of-the-century community.
The district, formed in 1881, covers an area of 253.8 sq. miles in the southeastern corner of Ellis County and extends into a small area of Navarro County.
The Ennis Independent School District (ISD) shall be an educational institution that continuously challenges and stimulates its students.
