Philosophy of Education:
Parents send their children, those who are most precious to them, to school every day entrusting their success and safety to educators and administrators with the confidence that we care for them as if they are our own. As a leader in this district, I am committed to helping create a learning environment that is emotionally and physically safe for all children.
As an educator, I am given the opportunity to shape lives every day and with this opportunity comes great responsibility. It is my belief that the responsibility of an educator extends deeper than just academics. We are a daily example for students that effort, attitude and persistence pay off with great reward.
Finally, I believe that fine leaders and teachers do not demand excellence, instead manufacture excellence. Doing what is right for our students, promoting them to be all they have the potential of becoming and maintaining a safe environment is how excellence is achieved. I am committed to promoting these values with the hope of benefiting those in the scope of my influence.
I am married to Tracy Wood, head baseball coach and teacher in Waxahachie. Together we have 4 children: Taylor, Kyle, Luke and Lorelei.
