    4. I need to pass two End of Course (EOC) exams in order to graduate.  If the STAAR has been canceled, how will I be able to complete my graduation requirements?

The Texas Education Agency has informed districts that all portions of the STAAR have been canceled.  This includes the EOC exams. Therefore the local district will have the flexibility to review the student's grades and attendance then make the determination if the student qualifies for a diploma.

    5. I am taking high school class that requires the passage of an EOC and I am not a senior.  How will this affect my graduation in future years?

Students who are currently receiving instruction in an EOC class, will not take the EOC this year.  Therefore TEA is stating these students will not be required to challenge the EOC in this year’s subject in future years.  Example: A student currently taking Algebra I will not be able to take the EOC this year, will not be required to ever take the Algebra I exam to graduate.  However, they will have to pass all other EOC exams in future years.

    6. Am I required to complete the online or hard copy home instruction provided by the school district?

EISD is providing activities and assignments to benefit our students.  At this time EISD is not assigning grades for the activities. However, that is subject to change as we move forward.  It is highly recommended that students are engaged daily in reading and math activities at a minimum. The loss of academic achievement could be very negative if students do not continue engaging in daily activities.
