Library Materials: Policies & Transparency
Ennis ISD Library Media Services
Ennis ISD Libraries empower students and staff to be effective and ethical users of ideas and information, lifelong readers, and versatile future-ready learners.
Parent Communication & Transparency
Ennis ISD has policies in place that allow our stakeholders to provide input on the content of library material available to our students.
Parents in Ennis ISD can receive email notifications about their child’s library book check-outs. To sign up for these emails, please complete the Parent Request for Email Notification Form.
Using the Ennis ISD Follett Destiny Parent Portal, parents can view their child's checkout history and set restrictions on what materials they can borrow. For more information and login instructions, click HERE.
Parents may also submit a list of materials their child is not permitted to check out or access. This can be done by completing the Library Materials Opt-Out Form online or by submitting the list to the campus principal or librarian.
All books donated to or purchased by Ennis ISD must be approved by the EISD School Board. To ensure transparency, a list of all requested and donated books will be posted here for public review for 30 days prior to each board meeting.
To learn more about how books are selected for campus libraries, visit the following:

Parents who have questions or concerns about a title on the Proposed Library Acquisitions list may submit their feedback by completing the Ennis ISD Library Materials Feedback Form. The School Board will review all feedback to ensure that each potential purchase aligns with the district's standards.
For more information about this process, contact the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction at Melinda.Domain@ennis.k12.tx.us.
