Since 2015, Mathes has served as Principal of Phillips Elementary in Kaufman ISD. Prior to that, she was Assistant Principal within Ennis ISD at Crockett Early Childhood Center.

 

“I'm so excited to be returning to Ennis ISD,” Mathes states. “It has a wonderful team and I am really looking forward to the opportunity of working with the Austin staff, students, and families.”

 

Mrs. Mathes has a Bachelor’s Degree from Baylor University and a Master’s Degree from Lamar University, along with over 25 years of public education experience.

 

“We are very excited and fortunate to have Mrs. Mathes joining our Ennis ISD family,” said Jay Tullos, EISD Superintendent. “She brings a wealth of experience and positive energy that will keep Austin Elementary a great place for kids.”

 

Mathes will be taking over for the current Principal, Bobby White, who will be transitioning at the end of this school year to the role of Family and Community Engagement Coordinator.
