The Ennis ISD Board of Trustees has decided to suspend the current search for a new superintendent until after the first of the year. Although the superintendent candidates who were recently interviewed all possessed excellent resumes and qualities, they were not deemed to be an appropriate fit for Ennis ISD and the community at this time.
“The selection of a superintendent is the most important decision for our board,” said Bramlet Beard, EISD Board President. “Finding the right person for our district and our community will be essential to the long-term success of EISD. We did not feel that the first search yielded what would be best for EISD, so we will continue to move forward with a new search and will not settle until we find the best candidate for our district.”
Interim Superintendent, Lloyd Treadwell, will remain in place during this extended process. A timeline to reopen the search will be determined and publicized in January as more information from the school board becomes available.
