New Tip Line Launched

At Ennis ISD, our staff works extremely hard to make our schools safe and caring places. In doing so, we strongly encourage and frequently remind students to report any safety concerns directly to a trusted adult at home or at school. Still, we know that when students become aware of unsafe people or situations, it may be very difficult for some to report, causing them to be fearful or feel pressure from others to keep quiet. We want our students and parents to help us keep schools safe and to break any silence that may exist which could impact the safety of our schools.

With this in mind, we are launching a new Ennis ISD Tip Line which is available through our website or mobile app. If a student or parent were to suspect or become aware of any students or adults in a school who are planning or acting in any unsafe manner, please report it. This includes, but is not limited to, the use or possession of drugs or weapons, and/or threats to injure or bully others. If they are not comfortable talking directly with staff at the school level, we encourage them to use this new Tip Line. It is a fast, effective, and safe way to let us know about any unsafe situation. If they choose, tips can be submitted anonymously, without the worry of being identified as the source of the information.

The Tip Line, located on the main menu bar of our website and through our district mobile app, is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Tips will be referred to school and/or law enforcement authorities as deemed appropriate.

This new Tip Line is intended to give students and parents an easy way to report unsafe situations and to help us work together in this important area. Please spend some time with your students today, sharing this information and discussing with them the importance of helping to keep their school safe. If you have any questions regarding the Tip Line, please feel free to contact Assistant Superintendent, Jason Gilstrap, at 972-872-7000 or jason.gilstrap@ennis.k12.tx.us.
