Welcome to
Sam Houston Elementary!
My name is Lori Redning, and the 2023-2024 school year will be my 35th year as an educator at Ennis ISD and my 25th year as a principal. I love living in Ennis, and I am very proud to be an Ennis High School graduate. I strive to bring that love and pride to Sam Houston every day.
At Sam Houston, our goals are for your children to also love attending school in Ennis and be proud to be a Lion. We are dedicated to nurturing an educational climate that allows learners to become academically prepared, self-reliant, kind, curious, leaders, and problem-solvers. We want our students to have a solid foundation so they are prepared academically, socially, and emotionally to follow their dreams wherever they take them.
Houston opened in the fall of 1963, and to celebrate this milestone, our theme this year is "Sam Houston is 60 & still groovy"! It's going to be super cool, and we wish all our families peace, love, and happiness!
