Alamo Middle School and Lummus Intermediate are currently operating under a Secure status due to law enforcement activity in the surrounding neighborhood being addressed by the Ennis Police Department.
There are no issues at these campuses, and this measure is being taken purely as a precaution to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff. Instruction and normal school operations are continuing as usual inside the building.
We will provide updates if there are any changes. Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we prioritize the safety and security of our school community.

A lockdown at the junior high was inadvertently triggered this morning. There is no threat, and all students and staff are safe. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.

Ennis ISD is aware of recent student walkouts reported in other communities. While we respect students’ ability to express their views in appropriate and nonviolent ways, instructional time must remain a priority. Students who leave campus or disrupt classes during the school day may face consequences under the Student Code of Conduct. If you have concerns, please reach out to your student's campus.
Friday, February 13th, is an Early Release Day for all students.

Just like last semester, we will once again hold a $500 drawing for students who qualify. Perfect attendance will be tracked every six weeks throughout the spring semester. With a total of 18 weeks, your student’s name can be entered into the drawing up to three times. The winner will be selected on May 15th.

EISD Family,
We hope you were able to enjoy the Wintry Mix Holiday and spend some quality time with friends and family.
We will return to school tomorrow at our regular start times. We encourage our students and staff to take extra precautions when traveling on roads and sidewalks, as some ice could remain.
Please be safe and we will see you tomorrow. Thanks again for your patience during this winter event.

EISD Family,
After driving the roads for the last couple of hours and discussing with our admin team and the City of Ennis we are going to cancel school on Wednesday, January 28th
The major roadways are improving, but will refreeze tonight. Additionally, many of our county roads and neighborhood streets will not be ready for bus traffic in the morning.
Stay safe and warm with your family and we look forward to welcoming you all back on Thursday, January 29th.
